We know that healing processes involve many kinds of communications within the body. There are many systems in the body that communicate and conduct energy and information from one place to another. There are relationships between all the parts of the body and it is through this integration that we realize wholeness and balance. We call this homeostasis.
Heidi sees only one client at a time, and endeavors to listen and stay present with them allowing, through stillness and quiet, the body to show her what it needs. Heidi has the ability to interpret rhythms, mobility (movement), motility (inner movement), and heat in finding the causes rather than just treating symptoms.
She believes that it is this space of stillness, of listening, and of presence that is created between client and practitioner, is what facilitates and empowers healing to occur.
Heidi has found that there are many treatment approaches that will give people complete reduction of their symptoms. The trouble is, the reduction only lasts for a short period of time and then people will have to return for more treatment. Eventually this kind of approach makes their body dependent on the treatment. She has also found that many people try many types of treatment only to find their pain and discomfort do not get resolved.
She knows people are told they “have to learn to live with the pain and that this is the best they can expect”. Heidi does not believe that is true. Unfortunately, many people believe that and thus, become disempowered and helpless.
Dr. Andrew Weil, MD has said, “all the circuitry and machinery is there (for natural healing to occur); the problem is simply to discover how to turn on the right switches to activate the process’”.
This has been Heidi’s quest and passion for the last 33 years – to learn, study, rediscover and “make known the unknown” through her work. To learn from the master teachers and put it all together, to become even more effective in her craft.
Heidi has been practicing manual healing methods since 1977 and has taken thousands of hours in courses. Some of the courses she has studied include:
CranioSacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Neural Manipulation, Mechanical Link, Myofascial Release, Manual Lymph Drainage, Mobilization, Strain Counterstrain, Zero Balancing, Muscle Energy Technique, Postural Release Techniques, Matrix Repaterning, Bruno Chikly’s Brain curriculum, Massage and Energy work.
